A fairy spell for calm weather

You might want to try this spell for calm weather as your first fairy spell. If it goes wrong you will only get a day of drizzly rain so it's good practice.
(It's best not to try any spells for dramatic weather until you have had more practice. I tried a thunder spell when I first started and my neighbours are still annoyed).

Ingredients

A handful of dried leaves (if autumn all the better)
5 petals of the same colour
A small piece of bark
2 big tears
A piece of cobweb (be brave, the spider won’t mind too much!)
A tiny spoon of spice (any kind)

Instructions

If it is not autumn you will first need to dry your leaves.
If you have time to wait then pick some leaves and place them carefully inside a heavy book, making sure they are flat. Wait a few weeks and they will be fully dry.
If you don't like to wait too long, collect your leaves and set them on a windowsill in the sun - this will crisp them up in a few days.
If you are absolutely terrible at waiting then you need to pop the leaves in a warm oven and leave them long enough to dry. Be sure not to leave them in too long or they may burst into flames and goodness knows what spell you will have made then.

Once your leaves are dry they should crumble easily. Rub them between your fingers until they break into little pieces.

Put them in a saucer or a shallow bowl - if possible, one with either a flower decoration or a gentle colour like yellow or cream.
Scatter the petals on top of the leaves.

Grind the bark under a spoon or with the end of a rolling pin.

Set the cobweb on top of it.
Now it’s time to add the tears. If you can't make tears yourself (or make anyone else cry) then mix a tiny bit of salt with a few drops of water. Try thinking of something sad as you add the salt - you might cry anyway by the time you are finished.
Carefully add the little pile of bark, cobweb and tears into the bowl of leaves and petals.
Mix with your finger so they tangle together.

Sprinkle the spice on top, gently blowing so the spice moves into the pile (be careful how hard you blow or else your spell will be airborne!).

The bowl or saucer should then be placed in the quietest room of the house and left for a few days. It needs to work in its own time so try not to disturb it until the calm weather has started.

PS All fairy spells are very attractive to cats. Do not leave your ingredients alone or this might happen:
